When technology meets purpose, transformation follows.

Silqu recently gave back to the community by donating and equipping a fully functional computer lab at Isovya Primary School, a public sub-county school in Makueni County. For many of the learners, this was their first time seeing and touching a computer; A life-changing experience that symbolized possibility and progress.

This initiative carries special meaning for Ronald Mutuku, Silqu’s Co-Founder and CEO, who was born and raised in Makueni. Ronald’s journey with technology began in humble circumstances. His very first laptop came after high school, bought for just Ksh 1,000, a price that reflected not its power but his determination to learn and grow through technology.

“I remember what it felt like to dream beyond what I could see,” Ronald shared. “Equipping this lab is more than a donation; it’s about giving young minds a window into the future that changed my own life.”

At Silqu, we believe technology should not be a privilege, but a bridge, connecting opportunity to every corner of our country. By providing computers and internet access to Isovya Primary School, Silqu aims to nurture digital literacy, inspire innovation, and help students in rural Kenya gain skills that prepare them for a tech-driven world.

This project reflects our broader mission; Using technology to create real impact. Whether it’s through transforming how landlords and tenants manage their homes or enabling students to discover digital possibilities, Silqu’s story is one of empowerment and inclusion.

What began as a dream in Makueni has now come full circle, from a Ksh 1,000 laptop to a room full of computers lighting up young faces.
And this, we believe, is just the beginning.
